The Kenkyusha Romanized English<->Japanese Dictionary is one of the most comprehensive and popular dictionaries among students of Japanese. This unit is useful for help in speaking, reading and writing everyday Japanese. It also provides over 20,000 examples and idioms. The Roman alphabet based dictionary is derived from the standard Hepburn system with some modifications.
You can input words of which you are not sure, despite incorrect spelling. The Japanese translations of the English headword are marked with accent marks for correct pronunciation. Phonetically spelled, 'Romanized' Japanese words may be entered as well, regardless of spelling. Headwords that are spelled phonetically are properly accent-marked. Advanced search of idioms or examples is available. Japanese is displayed in Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji and Romaji (English transliteration of Japanese characters) with accent marks. Romaji input method (Hiragana to Romaji chart included in the manual) is available.
